At Scouts, all of our volunteers help to shape young people’s lives for the better. Just as our young people appreciate, and look up to their leaders and role models, we want our volunteers to know just how amazing they are too.
Whether you’ve helped out as a Beaver leader for years, put in every effort to make sure that all of our young people get the most out of their Scouting experience, or you’ve been exceptionally brave when times get tough, our awards are here to recognise the things you do.
The Scout Association has a number of awards to recognise special acts of heroism and bravery, courage or endurance, and devotion to duty under suffering. These awards are available to all members of Scouting including Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network.

Good Service Award nominations are made through the Scouts Digital System. A guide can be found here.
This is a local award that can be used to recognise youth members, adult members, and non members for their contribution to the Scouts. It can be awarded by the District Lead Volunteer or District Youth Lead.
The Thanks Badge may be a suitable local thank you for a short-term valuable piece of work or a longer-term commitment.
The Thanks Badge can be awarded to non members who’ve been of service to Scouting and can be purchased through Scout Shops.
