The Cub packs held various parties and camps throughout the year to celebrate the 100 years and took on the challenge of completing various 100 challenges.
There were also three big events during the year that saw every Cub joining together.
The first was the annual District Camp at Condovers in May. The campsite was decorated with the theme of the Jungle Book and there were loads of activities on offer, including some taken from old Cub manuals.

While the Friday night felt more like a winter camp, the rest of the weekend was glorious and the young people had a fantastic time.
In June Thurrock joined Cubs from Brentwood and Basildon at Thriftwood Campsite in Brentwood for a big celebration activity day. The day saw over 500 Cubs enjoy climbing and abseiling, water rollers, pedal cars and lots more. The event was also visited by Wayne Bulpitt, the UK Chief Commissioner of Scouting.
The year of celebration was completed with a big party at the Backstage Centre in Purfleet on the 16th December, the actual birthday of Cub Scouts.
