Earlier in the year, each Cub pack had a visit from the District rifle team to take part in an inter-pack competition, and the Cubs with the two highest scores from each pack were invited to take part in the final.
The afternoon consisted of two parts: a practice session for the Cubs to warm up and get used to the rifles again, and the competition itself, with a break in the middle for a quick drink and biscuit.
The competition was very close all afternoon with some very high scores being set, and this was echoed at the end when two packs had tied for first! This meant a shootout between East Tilbury and 1st Thors Oak had to occur to decide the winner. In the end, the Cubs from 1st Thors Oak held their nerve and came away victorious.
Many thanks have to go to John Daines and his team for the massive task of organising a visit to every Cub Pack and running a session with them as well as running the final itself.
