The role of District Lead Volunteer (DLV) acts as a manager, supporting other volunteers to ensure the District runs effectively and provides quality Scouting to more young people in Thurrock. This role would be great for an individual but can also work well as a role share with a team of 2 or 3 people.
In a nutshell, the DLV would:
- Inspire and enthuse people
- Apply strategic thinking to challenges you come across
- Build and lead a team of key volunteers
- Be resourceful and energetic
- Believe passionately about developing young people and volunteers
While familiarity with Scouting is beneficial, it is not essential; what matters most is a commitment to the Scouting ethos and the ability to communicate and collaborate with adults effectively.
This role is automatically a Charity Trustee. Disqualifications can be found here. This role also requires a disclosure check (DBS).
