The 19 teams of 3 Cubs were eager to show off their various craft talents for the chance to win the trophy. The afternoon was split into two parts with 3 individual projects followed by a group project.
The individual projects saw the young people designing and producing either a celebration cake from plasticine, a knot board with four knots, or a Birthday card that included Baden-Powell on the front.
After a short break, the teams came together to produce a collage based around the Cubs100 logo using tissue paper, glitter and various other crafty things.
The judges were again from the neighbouring Basildon District and they both had the extremely difficult task of deciding the winners. The standard was very high this year and this was reflected in the fact the judges had to revisit the projects with a more critical eye to separate some of the teams. In the end there were only 13 points between first to last.
In the end it was 1st Corringham Chetowaik who emerged victorious, with Thameside Orion in second and Chafford Hundred and 7th Grays Cromwell in joint third.
A huge thank you to 1st Corringham, Ockendon, Orsett and Bulphan Leopards and East Tilbury Packs for organising the event; and the District team for making it a success.
